Serious journalism from a Filipino point of view.
PANALO is a digital-first editorial media brand covering business, culture, fashion, food, sport, and architecture. We believe the Philippines deserves reportage that matches the complexity of its economy, the richness of its culture, and the ambition of its people. No generic lifestyle content. No clickbait. Just sharp, culturally fluent journalism designed for readers who expect more.
Why PANALO, Why Now
The Philippines has never lacked ambition, craft, or capital — what it has lacked is a publication willing to cover all three with the seriousness they deserve. Too much of what passes for Filipino lifestyle media is either imported in tone or thin on substance. PANALO was founded on the belief that a country producing world-class founders, weavers, chefs, and architects deserves journalism that matches that caliber — written by Filipinos, for Filipinos, first.
Founded in April 2025, PANALO started as a one-person effort to prove that Philippine editorial media could look, read, and feel like The Economist or The New Yorker without losing what makes it distinctly ours.

Editorial Principles
Independence
PANALO accepts no funding from political parties, government agencies, or advertisers with editorial influence. Our journalism is funded by readers, subscribers, and select brand partnerships that do not touch the newsroom.
Depth over volume
We publish fewer stories than most digital outlets, because we believe one thoroughly reported piece is worth more than ten aggregated posts. Every article is edited, fact-checked, and held to a standard we would apply to print.
Design as rigor
Information density is a form of respect for the reader. Our layouts prioritize readability, hierarchy, and speed. No autoplay video. No pop-up modals. No infinite scroll designed to maximize ad impressions at the cost of your attention.
